James Lee Hopkins

James Lee Hopkins, 57, died recently.
Services were held Friday, Oct. 26, from St. Mark Episcopal Church in Jackson with the Rev. Richard Middleton officiating. Westhaven Funeral Home was in charge.
He was born March 13, 1950, in Crystal Springs to the late Dorothy Ford Johnson and the late Ruben Hopkins.
He graduated from Jim Hill High School in 1968. He received a Masters degree from Jackson State University. He worked as director of the GED program at Jackson State University for many years. Upon retirement he worked as a substitute teacher in Jackson Public Schools.
Survivors include: his son, Isaiah Hopkins, daughter, Aquarius Hopkins-Schroder; and brother, Prentiss Johnson; sister, Ethelrene Johnson; seven grandchildren.
