Sybil Weathersby

Sybil Weathersby, 85, a resident of Diboll, Texas, since 1970, died on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at her home.
Services were held at Saturday, Nov. 17, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Keith Turner officiating. Interment was in the Wheeler Cemetery. Gipson Funeral Home, Lufkin, Texas, was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Weathersby was born August 10, 1922, in Emory, Texas, the daughter of the late Bertha Lee (Courtney) and Luther Barney. She was of the Jehovah Witness faith. She was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Mrs. Weathersby retired from Wyatt’s Cafeteria in 1990. She loved her flowers and her animals.
Survivors include: her husband, Glen Weathersby of Diboll; sister, Dorothy (Frank) Marker of Western Grove, Arkansas; five daughters, Bertha (Preston) Dunn of Elizabeth, Arkansas, Doris (J.E.) Patrick of Hazlehurst, Betty (Carl) Henderson of Wesson, Bonnie (William) Sickle of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Lois Barnett and fiancĂ©’ Dennis Beeson of Diboll; one son, Melvin E. (Jennifer) Hall of Diboll; stepdaughter, Gail (Norman) Odom of Hazlehurst; stepson, Glen C. Weathersby of Tennessee; 33 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
