Wesson’s Junior Varsity girls played their initial game of the regular season on Friday night in Natchez.  The JV Lady Cobras garnered a 2-1 win against the Natchez Bulldogs.  Callie Hudson, assisted by Vanesha Harris, scored the first goal of the evening.  Gladys DelCid fed the ball to Ashley Richardson who scored the second and final goal for Wesson.  The Bulldogs played hard for the remainder of the game but were only able to score once.  Their final scoring attempt was stopped by Wesson’s goalie Megan Hall.
In Lady Cobra Varsity action, Wesson prevailed over the Lady Bulldogs 3-0.  Senior, Trystan Eschete, put forth great effort and scored all three of Wesson’s goals.   Eschete’s final goal was a follow-up to a corner kick from teammate, Dallas Jackson.  Much of the credit for the Lady Cobras second shut out can be attributed to strong defensive play and the efforts of Wesson’s goalie, Ceara Sturgis.
The Wesson boys posted their second loss of the season but once again played a strong game on both offense and defense.  Late in the second period, Chris Fink’s second goal of the evening brought the game to a close contest at 3-2.  However, the Cobras weren’t able to hold off the Bulldogs offensive leader, Ross Smith.  Smith scored all five goals for the Bulldogs.  The final score was 5-2.
