Scott F. Hailey

Scott F. Hailey of Wesson died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at his home. 

Services were held Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, from Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church with interment in the Sylvarena Baptist Church Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Services of Hazlehurst was in charge of arrangements.

 He was born on Jan. 14, 1924, the youngest of five children of Mattie Edwards and Rankin M. Hailey.  He was a lifelong resident of Copiah County except for 20 years he lived and worked in Abilene, TX.  Mr. Hailey was an independent oil and gas producer in Texas and Oklahoma.  

He was a lifelong member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church.  He was also a member of the Copiah-Lincoln Institute of Learning in Retirement and the Fifty Plus Club. 

Mr. Hailey was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Loyce Bell Hailey, his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include: son, Dale Hailey; daughters, Sharron and husband Robert Baird, Rita and husband Tom Burks and Jo Ann Hailey; seven grandchildren, Corey Hailey, Scottie Diamond, Bo Hailey, Shelley Milligan, Chip Adams, Wyler Burks and Hailey Phillips; and five great grandchildren, Cooper Barlow, Conner Diamond, Justin Hailey, Meg and Lillie Milligan.
