Two Colonels will play in All-Star game this Friday

The Copiah Academy Colonels will be well represented this Friday evening at Robinson-Hale Stadium in Clinton, MS for the MPSA All-Star Football game.
The Copiah Academy Colonels finished this season with a stellar record of 11-2 and made the playoffs for the 3rd consecutive year.
Senior running back/linebacker Brandon Greer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Greer of Crystal Springs, will represent the Colonels.  In 2007 he amassed 755 yards rushing on 133 attempts and caught 31 passess for 374 yards, including six touchdwons.  His total all-purpose yards onf 1,278 rank high in MPSA record-keeping for the season.
 “He will be very hard to replace hard to find a guy that can run it and catch it as well as Brandon does. Such a tough kid, he played with pain every week and would not come out of game.  He has a lot of ‘want to’ inside of him that will carry him a long way,” said Copiah head coach Scott Cline.
Joining will Greer will be senior quarterback Daniel Sims, son of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Sims of Crystal Springs and Mrs. Sharon Townes of Brandon, Mississippi.  Sims gained 369 rushing yards on 119 attempts, and added 2,213 passing for a total of 2,582 yards. He threw the ball 273 times last season and completed 133 for 2,213 yards and 19 touchdowns along with 15 interceptions.
“Daniel is a three-year starter–a veteran–that has won two South State AA Titles and one State AA Title in 2006. He is a smart decision maker. His record as a starter is a remarkable 32-8. We will miss him around here, an he will be a hard one to replace, as well,” Cline said.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. this Friday December 7, 2007 in Clinton, MS at Mississippi College’s Robinson Hale Stadium.
