Howard E. Weeks

Mr. Howard E. Weeks, 75, of Hazlehurst, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008 at Hardy Wilson Hospital in Hazlehurst.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 7, from First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst with interment in Beauregard Cemetery. Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home of Jackson is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Wesson, Mr. Weeks served his country during the Korean War in the US Navy at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He was a former employee of United Gas for many years before becoming a restaurateur having owned and operated Tillies Restaurant in Hazlehurst for many years and later managed several other restaurants.

Survivors include: his wife of 52 years; Sarah Estess Weeks; daughters; Gina Clark and husband Bill of Madison and Elizabeth Stovall of Yazoo City; brothers; John Weeks and wife Karen of Wynndale and Marvin Weeks and wife Nancy of Wesson; sisters; Elma Purser and husband Woodrow of Crystal Springs and Agnes Ratliff and husband Larry of Wesson; and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst Building Fund.
