Qualifying deadline Jan. 18 for school board election

Candidates must qualify by January 18, 4:30 p.m., to run for the Hazlehurst school board.

Voters in the Hazlehurst School District will elect one member to the Hazlehurst School District Board of Trustees to represent those living outside the city limits on Saturday, March 1, at the school district headquarters building.

Candidates who wish to run for school board should pick up qualifying papers from Eva Thomas at the school district office as soon as possible. Completed paperwork must be turned in no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 18, in order to qualify to be placed on the ballot for the school board election.

The Hazlehurst School District Board of Trustees consists of five members: two are elected by those living outside the city limits, while the remaining three are appointed by the Hazlehurst Board of Aldermen.
