Roy Lee Sandifer, 56, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007.
Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 19, from Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Tillman officiating.
He was born Oct. 10, 1951 to the late Willie (June) Sandifer, Jr. and Mae Bea Smith Sandifer of Hazlehurst. He graduated from Parrish High School and shortly afterwards enlisted in the United States Army. In 2005 he retired from the Air National Guard as Master Sergeant after 20 years of service. At the time of his death he was enrolled in Rena Bible College in Tulsa, OK.
For 33 years he worked for Yuba Heat and Transfer as a maintenance supervisor. At the time of his death he was employed with Thermal Engineer Internation as a quality control inspector.
Survivors include: his daughter, Tashia Lachelle Powell of Houston, TX; sisters, Nellie Jean Sandifer, Gloria Sandifer and Shirley Sandifer all of Hazlehurst; brothers, John Henry (Louise) Sandifer and Milton (Frances) Sandifer all of Hazlehurst.
