Willie Brown, 95, a retired, pipeline supervisor, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at his residence.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 7, from Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee with interment in the Rials Creek Cemetery in Mendenhall.
He was born in Simpson County on Feb. 26, 1912 to Tommy and Pearlie Brown. He graduated from Pinola High School. After working on the Simpson County Roads, he was employed with Southern Natural Gas Co. in Jeff Davis County, then transferred to Toca, LA. After 28 years of service he retired from SNG while working at Moulden.
He was a deacon of Wesson Baptist Church, Past Master of J.M. Wesson Lodge; Scottish Rites, Past Patron of William Oliver Chapter O.E.S.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Myrl C. Brown and sons, Billy and Jim Brown.
Survivors include: daughter, Hilda Brown Hester; sister, Lola Brown Wheeler of Milton, FL; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
