Alder McMillian Sr.

Mr. Alder McMillian, Sr., 83, of Hazlehurst, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008, at Central Mississippi Medical Center.

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, from Gallman Chapel African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Zion Church in Gallman with Pastor Willie C. Cable officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery with Hazlehurst Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McMillian was born July 27, 1924 in Hazlehurst to Mead and Emmaline McMillian, Sr. He graduated from Parrish High School and was a member of Gallman Chapel until his death. Employment included: Hazlehurst Box Factory, Graves Lumbr Company, Copiah County Water Association and Sanderson Farms.

Survivors include: wife of 58 years, Jenetta Ailes McMillian; children, Leroy McMillian of Hazlehurst, Alder McMillian, Jr. (Rhonda) of Crystal Springs, Larry D. McMillian (Cynthia) of Jackson, Sarah Brown (Tony) of Louisville, KY, Glenn McMillian (Shelia) of Jacksonville, FL, Mikel McMillian (Sandra) of Hazlehurst, and Stanley McMillian (LaQuita) of Chester, VA; 19 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren.
