Coriner V. Young

Coriner V. Young, 97, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008.

Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 30, from St. James M.B. Church. Rev. Elvis E. Colenberg officiated. Interment was in the White Bay Cemetery with House of Peoples Funeral Home in charge.

She was born Feb. 1, 1910, in Claiborne County to Henderson and Josephine Washington Vardaman. On Dec. 12, 1925, she married Shellie Young and had eight children. Her husband and five sons, Homer, J.W., Cleveland, Vardaman and Otis all preceded her in death.

Survivors include: children, Allie (Shirley) Singleton (James) of New Orleans, LA, Vera James (Willie) and Rosie James (Leonard) both of Detroit, MI; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren.
