Derrick M. Joiner

Derrick M. Joiner, 56, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008.

Services were held Saturday, Feb. 16 from Gallilee M.B. Church in Hazlehurst with Rev. Jessie Ball officiating. Interment was in the Bethel M.B. Church with Hazlehurst Funeral Home in charge.

 He was born on Aug. 18, 1971, in Hazlehurst to Nellie J. and Billy G. Brown. He moved to New Orleans, LA and attended school there. He played in the Gregory Junior High School Band. He was a member of Bethel M.B. Church when he died.

Survivors include: his mother, Nellie J. Brown; brother, Darius D. Brown of Jackson; sisters, Glenda Thomas of Sacramento, CA and Samatra Holmes of Dallas, TX; daughters, Derrinikka C. Joiner of Santiago, CA and Moneizha Mack of Hazlehurst; son, Molick Joiner of Jackson; grandparents, Nellie M. Joiner of New Orleans, LA, Birter Brown and Johnnie M. Joiner and H.W. “Bud” Joiner of Hazlehurst; and a special friend, Donna Beasley of Jackson.
