One dead, one injured in double shooting
Hazlehurst police are searching for a suspect in a double shooting that happened around 7:25 p.m. Monday near 161 Longwood Street. Corey Handy, 21, was killed. The other victim, Damoyn Carroll, 22, was transported from Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital to University Medical Center in Jackson.

Chief Byron Swilley says his officers are still interviewing witnesses and have not yet determined a motive for the shooting.
