Mary Lynn Pickett Cook Scott

Mary Lynn Pickett Cook Scott, 64, of Crystal Springs, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008.

Services were held Saturday, March 22, from New Zion U. M. Church, Crystal Springs with interment in City Cemetery. Hazlehurst Burial Association was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Scott was born April 4, 1943 to Rayford and Gertrude Pickett in Crystal Springs. She graduated from Holtzclaw High School in 1961. She moved to Chicago, IL where she furthered her education and was employed as an Emergency Room Technician at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Chicago until 1977. She returned home to take care of her parents and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Baptist Hospital from 1978 to 1997, then worked at Pine Crest Guest Home from 2000-2001.

She was an active member of New Zion United Methodist Church in Crystal Springs.

Survivors include: husband, Robert W. Scott; daughters, L. Meshelle Johns of Crystal Spings and Nina S. Cook of Hazlehurst; sister, Martha Adams of Gary, IN; and eight grandchildren.
