Cloyd “Buddy” Strong

Cloyd E. ‘Buddy” Strong, 95, of Utica, died Friday, April 4, 2008, at Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Jackson.

Services were held Monday, April 7 from Utica Baptist Church with interment in Carpenter Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.

Mr. Strong was a native of Copiah County. He had lived in Carpenter all of his life except for time served in the Army during WWII as a Glider Trooper. He was a member of Utica Baptist Church where he had a perfect attendance at Sunday School for 9 years. Mr. Strong was preceded in death by his wife and three stepchildren.

Survivors include: son, Jimmy Strong of Utica; stepdaughter, Allie French of Pearl; brother, Lloyd Strong of Carpenter; 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
