Joyce Ann Henley, 54, of Wesson, died Sunday, May 11, 2008, at her home.
Services were held Friday, May 16, from Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Wesson with Pastor Lionell Corley officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery with Hazlehurst Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
She was born Sept. 7, 1953 to Edith Pearl Henley and Sherman Maymond in Copiah County. She was raised by Arthur and Frances DeVoe of It. She worked as a custodian for her church and caregiver for her grandmother, the late Edith Hill. She helped raise Michael Henley and Tasha Carroll.
Survivors include: father, Sherman (Mary) Maymond of Rolling Fork; brothers, Lonnie Henley of Hammond, LA, Stanley (Karen) of Baton Rouge, LA, Jerry (Frances) Durr of Brookhaven, and Tony Tanner of Rolling Fork; sisters, Mary (Preston) Parrish, and Audrey (Henry) Thompson of Hazlehurst, Phyllis Henley of Hammond, LA, and Charles Ann (Bill) Stewart of Chicago, IL; special friend, Larry Joiner, a special “sister” Clara Henley; and very special cousin, Francis Sandifer.
