Mary Ellen Crump

Mary Ellen Crump, 70, died Sunday, May 18, 2008.

Services were held Sunday, May 25, at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Martin Washington officiating. Dr. Yekikia A. Simms was mistress of services. House of Peoples Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Sept. 24, 1937 in Hazlehurst to the late Charlie Sr. and Florence Jefferson Sims. She was preceded in death by her husband, Booker T. Crump, son, Billy Ray Sims, and brother, Charlie Sims, Jr.

Survivors are a son, Tommy Sims of Hazlehurst; grandson, Erik Gilmore of New Orleans; sister, Vivan Conley (Tommy) of Indianapolis, IN; brothers, Willie Sims (Angie) of Pascagoula, Jerry Sims (Irma) of Fayette; and a great-grandson.
