Dorothy Ruth Tobias Whitfield

Dorothy Ruth Whitfield, 47, of Crystal Springs, died Monday, May 19, 2008, in Copiah County.

Services were held Saturday, May 24, from Westhaven Funeral Home in Hazlehurst with interment in New Pisgah M. B. Church cemetery.

Mrs. Whitfield was born Jan. 25, 1961 to Floyd and Willie Ruth Tobias in Copiah County. She was a member of Free People M. B. Church in Crystal Springs. She attended school in Crystal Springs and finished her education in Michigan.

Survivors include: husband, James Whitfield; daughter, Jasmenio Whitfield of Crystal Springs; sons, Charles (Chandra), Jammie (Jeanine), Tarus and Dequel Whitfield, all of Crystal Springs; stepchildren, Anthony Whitfield of Jackson, Eddie Whitfield and Michael Davis of Crystal springs; sisters, Diane (Bruce) Bryant of Des Moines, IA, Linda Bozeman and Wanda Williams (Bonnie) of Crystal Springs; brothers, Glen Welch, Nathaniel (Jackie) Tobias and Arthur Tobias of Crystal Springs, Herbert (Shaun) Tobias of Georgetown, Theyfield Tobias and Floyd (Cynthia) Tobias of Hazlehurst, and Jerry Tobias of Des Moines, IA; and eight grandchildren.
