Rosie Mae Gary-Copeland, 88, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008.
Services were held Friday, June 20, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. W. Charles Bryant officiating.
Burial was in the Hawkins Cemetery in Barlow with the House of People Funeral Home in charge.
She was born on Oct. 4, 1919 in Copiah County. She married Sam Harvey Copeland and they reared 15 children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Elizabeth Spotwood; brothers, Jesse, R.E., Henderson and Robert Gary ; children, Albert Lee Clark, Abraham, Harvey and John Copeland.
Survivors are sisters, Lena Mae Walker of Hazlehurst, Hattie Bell Gustavis of Jackson; brother, Tommy Lee Gary of Hazlehurst; sons, Sidney (Jessie) Moreland, Herbert (Delois) Copeland, Jesse Larry Copeland,
Burnell (Mary Maude) Copeland, all of Hazlehurst, Charlie Frank Copeland of Los Angeles, CA; daughters, Louise (Charles) Magee of Hazlehurst, Catherine (Walter) Smith of Sikeston, MO, Carolyn (Roger) Tate of Osyka, Helen Byther, Emma Copeland-Strahan, and Marcene Williams, all of Chicago, IL; 29 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson.
