Hilda B. Lowery

Hilda B. Lowery, 92, of Hattiesburg, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at her home.

Services were held Tuesday, June 24, from Brookhaven Funeral Home with interment in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Lincoln County.

Mrs. Lowery, formerly of the Mt. Zion Community, was born Feb. 13, 1916 to Lee Britt and Ophelia Smith Britt. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in the New Sight and Wesson Elementary Schools for over 40 years. She was a long time member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include: sons, Mike Lowery and Annie of Hattiesburg, and Tim Lowery and Georgianna of Jackson; brother-in-law, Roy Mosley of Crystal springs; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
