Julia Mae Thompson Majors

Julia Mae Thompson Majors, 74, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008.

Services were held Monday, June 30, from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Daniels Officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery with House of Peoples Funeral Home in charge of services.

Mrs. Majors was born Feb. 3, 1934 to Eugene and Rosetta Thompson in Hazlehurst. She worked for Mr. and Mrs. James Shannon for years until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin (Zack) and three brothers.

Survivors include: daughters, Mary Ann Thompson and Joyce Ann Thompson of Barberton, OH; sister, Kathleen Stamps; brother, J. E. (Mary Lou), all of Hazlehurst; special friends, James and Ann Shannon, and Tommie Jean Coleman; 12 grandchildren; and 25 grandchildren.
