Willie Mae Ervin, 79, of Crystal Springs, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson after a long illness.
Visitation with the family will be 5-8 p.m., Thursday, July 10, at Stringer Family Funeral Services on Hwy 27 in Crystal Springs. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 11, 2008 at 10 a.m. from the Stringer chapel. Interment will follow in the County Line Cemetery.
A long-time resident of Crystal Springs, Mrs. Ervin was born in Scott County, on October 18, 1928. Mrs. Ervin was a graduate of Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a retired Math and Bible teacher. Mrs. Ervin was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crystal Springs.
Mrs. Ervin was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilfred Ervin, Sr., and her parents, Carl and Nannie Mae Stuart Bradshaw of Cooperville.
Survivors include: children, Betty Palmer (Larry) of Nashville, TN, Judy Moore (Ralph) of Orange Beach, AL, Janet Chisolm (Ed) of Vicksburg, and Dr. James W. Ervin, Jr. (Joan) of Crystal Springs; sisters, Maxine Strong (Zack) of Carpenter, Virginia Huffman (Jimmy) of Pelahatchie, Delilah Bradshaw of Nashville, and brother, Paul Bradshaw (Joyce) of Jackson; grandchildren, Leslie Hudson and Johnny Hobby of Nashville, TN, Jennifer Hawkins of Jackson, Nathan Chisolm of Tupelo, Katy Goodin of Nashville, Russell Chisolm of Vicksburg, Wil Ervin and Eric Ervin of Crystal Springs; and three great-grandchildren, Jonathan Hudson, Nicholas Hudson, and Jake Hobby, all of Nashville.
