Gwen Ervin Clow
Martha Gwendolyn Ervin Clow, 85, died on Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson after a brief illness. Born June 15, 1923 in Copiah County, Mrs. Clow was a long-time resident of Denver, Colorado who returned to live in Crystal Springs near her family in the early 1990s.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday, August 3, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at Stringer Family Funeral Services on Hwy 27 in Crystal Springs. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2008 at 10 a.m. in the Stringer Chapel. Burial will follow in the County Line Cemetery.
Mrs. Clow was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Clow, of Denver, Colorado; her parents, Tommie Gwin and Mary McGinnis Ervin, of Crystal Springs; her brothers, James Wilfred Ervin, Sr. and Thomas Haley Ervin, and her sister, Mary Kathryn Stutts, all of Crystal Springs.
She is survived by her brother, Charles Edward Ervin (Sylvia) of San Antonio, TX; stepson, Duane Clow (Kay) of Fort Collins, CO, stepdaughter, Laverne Monteith (Jim) of Roswell, NM; her nephews, Dr. James W. Ervin, Jr. (Joan) of Crystal Springs, Charles Ervin (Lanell) and Gary Ervin (Rosalinda) of San Antonio, TX, Tommie Ervin of Sturgis, MS, Donnie Ervin (Dianne) of Odessa, TX, and Phillip Ervin of Memphis, TN; and her nieces Betty Palmer (Larry) of Nashville, TN, Judy Moore (Ralph) of Orange Beach, AL, Janet Chisolm (Ed) of Vicksburg, Barbara Jackman (Norris) of Birmingham, AL, Patricia Thompson (Scott) of Austin, TX, and Susan Luther of Newberry Park, CA.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Clow worked as an Administrative Assistant for Shell Oil Company for many years. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and of the First Baptist Church of Crystal Springs
