Beatrice Ables of Lexington, 87, died on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Holmes County Hospital in Lexington.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 28, 2008 from Southern Funeral Home chapel in Lexington with interment in Harland Creek Cemetery. The service was conducted by Randy Hill. Southern Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Mrs. Ables was born on May 12, 1921 in Holmes County to Gus and Lula Collins Tidwell. She was employed as a seamstress with Henson-Kickernick in Lexington before her retirement.
Mrs. Ables was preceded in death by her husband Vardaman Ables, and a granddaughter Dawn Ellison Allen.
She is survived by: four daughters, Myrtle “Kip” and Frank Higdon of Wesson, Bonnie and John Ellison of Lexington, Sheelah and James Barbee of Burleson, TX, and Mamie and Robert Wright o f Trenton, TN; grandchildren, Jeff (Toni) Higdon of Hazlehurst, Chuck (Patti) Higdon of Terry, Tracy (Louis) Fischer of Hazlehurst, Tammy (Ken) Carraway of Wesson, Glenda Ellison of Lexington, Mike (Julie) Ellison of Lexington, Gaye (Tim) Joiner of Lexington, Christina (Jeff) Coon of Dallas, TX, Nathan Wright of Jackson, TN, Jonathan Wright of Washington, D.C., and Carter Wright of Hattiesburg; and 14 great grandchildren, Emily Higdon, Laura Higdon, Trey Fischer, Jacob Fischer, and Erick Fischer, all of Hazlehurst, Joseph Carraway, Samuel Carraway, and Anna Carraway, all of Wesson, Randi Revisore of Houston, TX, Bobby Revisore of Austin, TX, Taylor (Matt) Bethany of Jackson, and Robert Ellison, Nicole Joiner and Elizabeth Joiner, all of Lexington.
Pallbearers were her grandsons: Mike Ellison, Jeff Higdon, Chuck Higdon, Nathan Wright, Jonathan Wright, and Carter Wright. Alternates were Robert Ellison and Trey Fischer.
