John Earl Kinnard

John Earl Kinnard, 74, passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008 at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque, NM.

Funeral Services were held Friday, Sept. 19, from Riverside Funeral Home in Albuquerque, NM.

Mr. Kinnard was born on Feb. 18, 1934 in Hazlehurst, to Mr. and Mrs. John Kenard, Sr.

John served two years active duty in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.   He was honorably discharged with a National Defense Service Medal in 1955.

He met and later married Linnie Price on April 18, 1959. They lived in the Los Angeles area for over 50 years  before moving to New Mexico.  John worked many jobs but he had a true entrepreneurial spirit. He owned several businesses during his lifetime.  John had a great love for life, family, food and sports. His true passion, however, was fishing. Which he did every chance he had, even after he became ill.

 He was preceded in death by his father, John Kenard Sr.; mother, Mamie Moore; stepfather, Ernest Moore; brothers, Tommy Kinnard, Robert Kinnard and Ed “Sonny” Kinnard; sister, Louvenia Kenard; and grandson, Maurice Jacobs.

Survivors include: his wife, Linnie Kinnard of Albuquerque; children, Barbara Corley and Sherri Kinnard of Moreno Valley, CA; Kim (James) Kaminky of Farmington, NM; Keith Kinnard of Redway, CA; and Shiela (Willie) Elliott of Albuquerque, NM; brothers, Robert (Agnes) Moore of Compton, CA; Claude Otis Moore, Bobby (Kimberly) Moore and Jerry (Valerie) Moore of Hazlehurst; and Charles (Darlene) Moore of Wesson; sisters, Arddie Shannon and Corinne Anderson of Hazlehurst; and Annie Pearl Kenard of Florida; grandchildren, Kamille, OJ, Jonathon, Oriel, Michelle, CJ, Shartara, Orion and  Wee-j; and one great-grandson, Kavon.
