Nancy Wilkins Grigsby, 88, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2008.
Services were held Saturday, Oct. 11, from Freedman Hall M.B. Church in Hermanville, with Rev. H.E. Banks and Rev. Johnny Hughes officiating. House of Peoples Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She was born on Feb. 6, 1920, to John and Madie Wilkins in Copiah County. At an early age she moved to Claiborne County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie L. Grigsby Sr. and a son, Joel Grigsby, daughter, L.J. Grigsby, 15 sisters and brothers and 2 grandsons.
Survivors include: daughters; Jannie (Eddie) O’Neal, Emma (John) Bell and Nora Grigsby Turner all of Hermanville; sons, Henry (Lula) Grigsby of Utica, Sammie Grigsby, Robert Grigsby, Eugene (Mildred) Grigsby, Andrew Grigsby and Norman Grigsby all of Hermanville, Jimmy (Judy) Grigsby of Lorman, Charles (Avis) Grigsby of Marrero, La, Tommie (Dorothy) Grigsby of Arcola, TX; sisters, Evelene Jenkins of Brookhaven and Beatrice Paige of Jackson; brother, J.W. Wilkins of Jackson; a number of grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
