Bobbie Leggett King, 76, passed away Saturday October 25, 2008 at home in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-7pm today and 9am Tuesday at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland. Funeral services will be 10:00am Tuesday October 28, 2008 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
Born April 2, 1932 in Wesson, MS, Mrs. King attended local Wesson schools and graduated from Wesson High School. She then went on to attend and graduate from Copiah-Lincoln Junior College. Mrs. King worked for various law firms and attended the Jackson School of Law at night, eventually earning her law degree in 1966.
She worked in the office of Gov. Fielding Wright before working for Chevron Oil Company for 15 years.
In June of 1958, Mrs. King married her husband Buck King in Forest, MS. She and her husband helped start Triangle Construction Company, Inc., of Jackson in May of 1967 of which she remained active until her death from heart failure on October 25, 2008. She attended Southside Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Leggett; mother, Lillie Franks Leggett; sisters, Agnes Leggett; and Nell Leggett Shelton. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Carroll D. (Buck) King; son, Bob King and wife Paula; grandsons, Bryan King, and Scott King; granddaughter, Kellie King; and nephews, Nicky Shelton and Jerry Shelton.
