Robert P. “Bobby” Young
Robert P. “Bobby” Young, 78, of Utica, died Sunday, November 16, 2008 at his home.
Visitation will be 5pm-7pm Monday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst. Services will be 10am Tuesday at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Crystal Springs with burial in Utica City Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Services in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.
Mr. Young was educated at Dentville and Meridian Schools. He served in the U. S. Army Signal Corp during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of First Families of Mississippi and the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Young was an avid golfer and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Mr. Young was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Meriam Dear Young, maternal grandparents, R. E. and Katie Kamper Dear, paternal grandparents, John Percy and Ethel Young, and a sister, Betty Young Hurt.
He is survived by wife of 53 years, Bertie Mae Young; nephew, Jim Hurt of Mobile, AL; sister-in-law, Joree Anderson of Utica; and brother-in-law, Jim N. Brown, Jr. of Florence, SC.
