David Franklin Cupit

David Franklin Cupit, 59, of Union Church, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson.

Services will be held Friday, Nov. 21, from Union Church Baptist Church in Jefferson County at 3 p.m., with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 5-8 at the church. The body will lie in state at the church until the time of the funeral.

Mr. Cupit worked 35 years with Southwest EPA and was a cattleman and a Mason. He was a member of Union Church Baptist Church where he was a deacon.

Survivors include: wife, Doylene Tennyson Cupit; sons, Nathan Cupit and wife Kim of Union Church, and Brad Cupit and wife Amy of Brookhaven; daughter, Shannon Porter and husband Jeff of Mobile, AL; brother, Herman Cupit, Jr. and wife Joyce of Nashville, TN; and seven grandchildren.
