Rev. Robert Hamlin Carr

Rev. Robert Hamlin Carr, 84, of Union Church, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at his home.

Services will be held Friday, Nov. 21, from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 11 a.m.  with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday night from 5-8 p.m. at the church.

Rev. Carr was a retired minister. He pastored churches including Lake Stanley Mission in Florida, Oak Grove Baptist Church in Yazoo County, Little Bahala Baptist Church in Lincoln County, Union Church in Jefferson County, and Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Copiah County. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, World War II.

Survivors include: wife, Colleen B. Carr of Union Church; sons, Steve Carr and wife Gale of Thaxton, and Rev. Mike Carr and wife Donna of Philadelphia; daughter, Toni McCoy and husband Richard of Pace, FL; brother, Richard (Dick) Carr and wife Mitzi of Hudson, IL; sisters, Barbara Peek and husband Vernon of Bloomington, IL, and Jackie Murrell and husband Tom, also of Bloomington, IL; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
