Old-fashioned Christmas celebration planned by Wesson Friends

A chance to step back in time and celebrate Christmas in an old-fashioned way presents itself this Friday evening in Wesson.

The Wesson Friends of the Library is sponsoring the 2008 Christmas with Friends beginning at 5:00 and lasting until 8:00.  Many of the Friends will be dressed in old-fashioned attire.  They also encourage those who are making plans to attend to be dressed in clothes from any older era.

Choirs will begin singing carols throughout the town beginning at 5. Children will enjoy balloon figures, an inflatable slide and a special story time at the library until 7. Treasure hunts for two prizes begin at 5, also.

Santa will be at the fire station at 6.

Local businesses will be open and selling Christmas gifts and decorations.  Plus, gift baskets from several of these businesses are being given away.  Registrations can be found at each participating business.

Chances to win a Richard Plasschaert art piece, “Flooded Timber Woodies”, are being sold at Trustmark Bank, where the art is on display.  Five dollars buys three chances, and all proceeds benefit the Wesson Library Building Fund.
