The Wesson Cobras dropped two straight four inning games Saturday at the Wesson jamboree in losing to Franklin County 3-1 and North Pike 7-3.
The Cobras managed only two hits in the jamboree and made some errors on balls that should have been routine to spoil their preseason debuts.
“It’s no secret that we have to throw strikes, play good defense and scrap for a run here and there,” explained Wesson head coach Hugh Knight. “We just have to do it. But, that is why we play a jamboree.”
The pitchers were limited to two innings each as Caleb Broome and Matt P. Smith pitched the first game well according to Knight. Brandon Allen, Alan Stegall, and Chris Fink pitched the last game in the 7-3 loss to North Pike.
