Bobbie Ruth Wallace

Bobbie Ruth Wallace, 85, of Crystal Springs, died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.

Visitation will be 4pm-7pm Wednesday at Stringer Family Funeral Services in Crystal Springs.  Services will be 11am Thursday at Stringer Family Chapel in Crystal Springs with burial in Gatesville Cemetery.  Stringer Family Funeral Services in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Wallace was native of Copiah County.  After graduating high school she followed her husband working for the Mississippi Power Company and later in the U. S. Navy to California, Japan and Tennessee.  Mrs. Wallace formerly was a telephone operator at Camp Van Doren and later returned to Jr. College to complete her education to become a secretary.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert E. “Hot” and Mary Jane “Mamie” Gates, a brother, Edward Brown Gates, and her husband Lavern Wallace.
 
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Wallace Gaddy and husband Ron of Raymond; one grandchild, Rachael Michelle Thames of Florence; two great grandchildren, Zane Bailey Thames and Destini Elizabeth Thames both of Florence; sister-in-law, Ginger Kyle of Jackson; one niece and two nephews.
