With Founders Day just around the corner, patrons in Wesson can now jump right into one of the up-and-coming parts of the event–Deal or No Deal.
Tickets for the popular game are on sale now at several Wesson businesses, including BP Shop and Wash, Copiah Bank, Ace Hardware and Copiah County Courier. At only $5.00 apiece, the 300 that were printed and are available for sale will be gone soon.
“We have sold several already and had pre-sold a bunch,” said Wesson Chamber board member Rhonda Ashley, co-owner of Shop and Wash.
Those who have their names drawn to play in the Deal or No Deal contest will have a good chance to win one of several prizes. Even those that aren’t selected, but are in attendance will have a great time. “It’s fun just to watch the contestants go through the agony of making their case choices. Everyone will have a great time, regardless,” said Jerry Brewer, president of the Wesson Chamber.
Brewer emphasized the availability of vendor spaces for the event, also. “Response has been great for vendor spaces,” Brewer said, “but we still have plenty more available.” Those who are interested in purchasing vendor space for the event should contact Claire Crow, secretary of the chamber, at 601-757-7082.
“Founders Day is a great chance to reach a high volume of paying customers in a short period of time,” Brewer said.
Begun in 1989 as the 125th birthday celebration of the founding of Wesson, Founders Day is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2009. The event will be held April 24 and 25. Make your plans now for the weekend of April 24-25.
