Delivery truck driver shot near Gallman
The Copiah County Sheriff’s Department and other law enforcement agencies are on the lookout for the shooter in the Monday morning robbery of a delivery truck driver on Clear Creek Road near Gallman.
The suspect is described as a black male, with a bald head and a gold tooth. He got out of a black, Toyota station wagon, which may have had a black female driver.
Driver Alvin Lyons said he pulled his Golden Flake delivery truck over to assist another driver who flashed his lights at him. When he did, a black male jumped into his truck and ordered him at gunpoint to drive to a remote location.
The gunman took Lyons’ wallet but was upset there wasn’t more money in the truck. Lyons struggled with the gunman and was shot in the hand and foot. The robber fled the scene.
Lyons has been released from the hospital and is recovering.
