Jewell Myers Taylor

Jewell Myers Taylor died Sunday, April 26, 2009, two days shy of her 98th birthday.

Visitation will be held at 1pm Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at New Zion Baptist Church in Crystal Springs followed by the celebration of her life at 2 pm at the church. Interment to follow at Old Crystal Springs Cemetery.

Holland-Harris Funeral Directors, Tupelo is in charge of all arrangements.

Mrs. Taylor was a lifelong resident of Crystal Springs and worked at various businesses throughout her adult life. She was an active member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 54 years, Shelby John Taylor and six of her siblings.

Survivors include: sons, Dr. John Lee Taylor (Dolores) of Birmingham, Alabama and Col. (Ret) Donald R. Taylor (Beverly) of Crystal Springs; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Gertrude Bullock, of Hazlehurst.
