Memorial Wall of Honor on display in Hazlehurst

The Mississippi Memorial Wall of Honor, which was on display at the fairgrounds during Monday’s Memorial Day activities, can be viewed in the lobby of Copiah Bank’s main branch in Hazlehurst this week and next.
Starting Tuesday and continuing through the first week of June, the Memorial Wall of Honor will be on display at Copiah Bank’s main branch in downtown Hazlehurst. After that the Wall will travel to other Copiah Bank branches. There will be a fund set up at Copiah Bank to accept donations toward the Wall’s expenses.
One side of the Memorial Wall of Honor features large photos from the past century’s wars, while the other side includes portraits of Mississippi’s fallen soldiers from the Revolutionary War to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
“This wall is in honor of fallen heroes in Mississippi who have fought and died for our freedom and we mustn’t ever ever ever forget them,” said Janet Sullivan. “We want to honor all veterans who have served and are still serving – past, present and future veterans.”
