Jimmy Ray Shanahan, Jr.

Jimmy Ray Shanahan, Jr., 41, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, May 31, 2009.

Services will be held Wednesday, June 3, from Westside Baptist Church in Hazlehurst, with interment in Gallman City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 2 from 5-9 p.m. at Westside Baptist Church. Community Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Shanahan was born Nov. 21, 1967, to Jimmy Ray Shanahan Sr. and Mary Jo Buckley Shanahan. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of Park Hill Baptist Church, Jackson. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Ray Shanahan, Sr.

Survivors include: mother, Mary Jo Shanahan of Hazlehurst; brothers, Joe Shanahan of Hazlehurst, Jeff Shanahan of Jackson, and Jeremy Shanahan of Rockport; sister, Sommer Erwin of Hazlehurst; special friend, Charlotte Johnson and children Chandler and Chance Johnson; and a number of special nieces and nephews and friends.
