Loren D. Breland, M.D.
Dr. Loren D. Breland, Jr., 74, of Petal, died Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Bedford Care Center, Hattiesburg.
Services were held Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Moore Funeral Chapel in Hattiesburg.
Dr. Breland was a family practice doctor for 40 yeas. He worked at the Family Practice in Crystal Springs from 1963 – 1988 and at the New Augusta Medical Clinic from 1990- 2000. He was Coroner of Copiah County from 1976 – 1988, a member of Southwest Medical Rural Health Initiative (SWMRHI), President of Copiah County Cancer Society and Protestant.
Survivors include: wife, Barbara Breland of Petal; three sons, Loren D. Breland III of Austin, Texas, Noel T. Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada And Wade W. Williams of Sugar Hill, Georgia; two daughters, Valinda E. Brent of Niceville, Florida and Selina K. Alexander of Suwannee, Georgia; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
