Steven Gregory (Greg) Ashley

Steven Gregory (Greg) Ashley, 44, of Byram, died Saturday,  July 25, 2009 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.

Visitation is Monday from 5-8 at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst.  Services will be 10am Tuesday at Stringer Family Chapel.

Greg was a graduate of Union Academy where he was Valedictorian and went to Sweden as an exchange student.  He attended Hinds Community college and Memphis State University.  He worked at Skytel for a number of years before going to Entergy as a service representative.  He often enjoyed riding the train to New Orleans.  Greg was a loving and caring person.
 
Survivors include: parents, Greer and Juanita Ashley of Wesson; birth mother, Virna Faye Varnado of Huntsville, AL; brother, Sammy Ashley and wife Vicki of Wesson; half brother, Sergio Ortiz of Huntsville, AL; half sisters, Rosa Barber and Alicia Turri, both of Huntsville, AL; nieces and nephews, Gage Ashley, Sara Beth Ashley and Justin Smith; special friends, Dutch Blakely of Byram, John and Donna Cook of Gluckstadt.
