John Earl McGrew

John Earl McGrew, 59, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009.

Services were held Saturday, Oct. 3, from Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Hazlehurst with Rev. Martin Washington officiating. Interment was in White Bay Cemetery with House of Peoples Funeral Home in charge.

He was born Aug. 11, 1950, in Copiah County to the late Percy and Bessie Bell Shannon McGrew. He graduated from Parrish High School in 1968 and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. He had worked at Kuhlman Electric Co. of Crystal Springs and Griffin Alexander Drilling Co. of Louisiana.

Four sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.

Survivors are his wife of 32 years, Doris McGrew; daughter, Kenyata McGrew of Hazlehurst and Jacqueline Littles of Hazlehurst; step-daughters, Priscilla Gary of Arlington, AL, Cicilia Gary and Shelia Gary of Hazlehurst;  sister, Gloria Blackwell of Crystal Springs; brothers, A.Z. McGrew (Emily) and Warren McGrew (Juanita) of Chicago, IL, Dan McGrew (Anna) and Alton McGrew (Beverly) of Hazlehurst; and four grandchildren.
