CRYSTAL SPRINGS 63 HAZLEHURST 37

The Tigers got the best of the Indians last Tuesday evening, winning 63-37.

Crystal Springs led 32-14 at halftime and outscored the Indians 21-23 in the second half.  Roman Lofton led the Tigers with 24, followed by Gavin Allen with 14.  Torey Quinn hit for 14 and Isaac Smith added 11 in the losing effort for Hazlehurst.

JIM HILL 69 HAZLEHURST 62, 20T

The Indians battled the visitors in a classic game, but came up short to Jim Hill 69-62 in double overtime.

A 21-19 Jim Hill lead at the half was erased by the end of the third period as both teams tied 38-38.  The two teams battled to a 51-51 score at the end of regulation and 56-56 after one extra period.  Jim Hill hit for 13 in the final OT, while the Indians only got 6.

Quinn again led the Indians with 18 points and Smith chipped in 6.

BROOKHAVEN 80 WESSON 34

The Panthers dealt the Cobras their third loss of the season in Brookhaven last Saturday.

The home team built a 49-15 halftime lead, then cruised to outscore the Cobras 31-18 in the second half.

Hunter Hood led Wesson with 10 points, followed by Gib Britt with 7.

HILLCREST 60 WESSON 49

Wesson fell to 0-4, dropping a 60-49 decision to Hillcrest Christian last Friday evening in Wesson.

Trailing only 30-22 at the half, the Cobras were outscored by only 3 in the second half, 30-27, in the loss.

Tyler Lumley led the Cobras with 12 points.  Britt added 10 and Hood, 8.

DEXTER 76 WESSON 51

Tyler Lumley hit for 18, and Gib Britt notched 15 in Wesson’s fifth loss of the season.

Dexter ran out to an insurmountable 49-21 lead after the first half, then cruised in the second with 27 points to Wesson’s 30 for the win.

JIM HILL GIRLS 88 HAZLEHURST 62

Jasmine James poured in 25 for the Lady Indians on Thursday at Jim Hill, but the home team ran away with the 26 point victory.

Kiara Shannon chipped in 7 to aid the Lady Indians.

HAZLEHURST GIRLS DEFEAT CRYSTAL SPRINGS

The Lady Indians pounded the Lady Tigers at Crystal Springs last Tuesday. (No scoring information was available at press time.)

WESSON GIRLS 45 HILLCREST 33

The Lady Cobras picked up a big win over the Lady Cougars on Friday evening in Wesson, improving to 5-0.

Wesson led 26-20 at the half, then outscored HCS 19-13 in the second for the final margin.

Ansley Schimmel led Wesson with 1 points.  Ann Shelby Davis added 12.

WESSON GIRLS 51, DEXTER 22

The Lady Cobras substituted early and often in the blowout win on Saturday at Dexter.

Wesson took a 28-5 margin into the dressing room at halftime.  In the second half, Wesson’s starters rested and many underclassmen saw several minutes of quality playing time in outscoring Dexter 23-17 in the frame.

Ann Shelby Davis hit for 13.  Macie Case added 6 and Schimmel, 5.  Others scoring were Hannah Selman, Elsie Miller and Madison Rials with four each; Summer Rials, Danielle Tadlock, Dylan Harris and McKenzie Rials with two each; and Shauntay Walker and Lychrissa Harris with one each.
