Richard Charles Thigpen

Richard Charles Thigpen, 64, of Georgetown, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009.

Services were held Saturday, Dec. 12, from Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home, Hazlehurst, with Pastor Gregory D. Brown officiating. Interment was in Little Rock U.M. Church Cemetery.

Mr. Thigpen was born Sept. 17, 1945, in Georgetown, to Bro. Troy and Sis. Ossie Mae Thomas Thigpen. He was cared for by his grand mamma Ella. He grew up in the Harmony community and attended Harmony, Brushy Creek and William H. Holtzclaw schools. For many years he worked in the states of Illinois, Michigan and Mississippi. He also worked for Becknell Construction, Copiah Lumber Company and George Harris Building Company.

Survivors include: son, Richard; sister, Lavonne; nephew Derrick (his wife Tami and children Mia, Kayla and Justin); and Aunt Clara.
