Strong lineup of talent for Day of Unity celebration

The Day of Unity Musical/Fashion and Talent Show in honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will take place this Sunday, January 17, 2010 at 5:00 pm at the Hazlehurst High School Auditorium.  Special guest will be the Utica Southernaires of Utica, MS and Minister Stallings and the Men of Faith from Starkville, MS.

The Utica Southern Aires started singing under the leadership of Ethel Lee Noel-Harris better known as “Sister.”  Since her death in 1972, this anointed group has recorded 3 CD’s entitled, “My Savior Lives”, “Lord I’m Depending on You”, and their latest project “Too Blessed to be Stressed.”

Labeled as a rising and exciting young gospel group in Mississippi, Minister Stallings and the Men of Faith definitely is a force in the gospel music industry for this next decade.  The group is anchored by Minister Earnest Stallings of Ackerman, MS with Daniel Tripplett (1st tenor), Antonio Miller (2nd tenor), Michael Chandler (Baritone/Bass) and Chris Taylor (Drummer).  They have their focus on bringing God’s holy word every time they set foot on stage while acknowledging that no weapon formed shall prosper and that through Christ, all things are possible.

Day of Unity musical line up will also include New Covenant Male Choir, Egypt Hill Male Choir, Dexter Hogan, Yokemen for Christ and Rev. Willie Mitchell.

Plus also featured will a special performance from the spiritual praise dance team, Praise One of Hazlehurst, Hall’s Hill MB Church Drama Ministry and 7 and 8 year old singing sensations Teyahna and Taylor Patterson.  Dixon’s Boutique will be on hand with the latest in fashion.
