Bonnie Jones

Bonnie Lee Tillson Jones, 88, of Crystal Springs, died Friday, March 5, 2010 at her home. 

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 8, 2010, also at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs.

Mrs. Jones was born in Smith County, and graduated from high school in Gallman.  She was the daughter of Isaac M. and Ina Angeline Bryant Tillson, and the granddaughter of Wiley P. Harris and Anna Matilda Norris Bryant, and Andrew Jackson and Elvira Celeste Mayfield Tillson.
 
While working as a telephone operator in Crystal Springs, Mrs. Jones met and married Joel Jones, a career Marine who was returning from World War Two.  They lived in New York City, Quantico, VA and Jacksonville, NC before returning to Crystal Springs in 1957.  Mrs. Jones was a long time member of Highland Baptist Church in Crystal Springs, and she enjoyed flowers, quilting and cooking.
 
She was preceded in death by Joel Jones, her husband of 59 years, and siblings Myrtle Tillson McGuire, Martin Tillson, Luke Tillson, Pearl Tillson and Earl Tillson.
 
Survivors include: daughter, Celeste Jones MacLeod and husband Leonard MacLeod; son Joel R. Jones and wife Harriet Lowery Jones; granddaughter Angeline MacLeod Herron and husband Jason; grandson Shawn MacLeod and wife Stephanie; granddaughter Mollie Catherine Jones; great-grandsons Alexander and Jessiah Joel Herron;
