Lavada Jones

Lavada Walker Jones, 90, of Crystal Springs died Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.  

Visitation will be 6pm-8pm Monday, March 15, 2010 at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs and 1pm-2pm Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at First Baptist Church.  Services will be 2pm Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at First Baptist Church with burial in Crystal Springs Cemetery.  Stringer Family Funeral Services in Crystal Springs is handling arrangments.

 Mrs. Jones was a native of Brookhaven.  She owned and operated Town and Country Beauty Salon for 35 years.  She was a member of First Baptist Church where whe was a Sunday school teacher for 5 year olds.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Hansel W. Jones, son, Hiram James Jones, brothers, Roy Walker, Bert Walker, Oliver Walker, and Walter Walker and sisters, Beatrice Smith and Leona Smith.

Survivors include: sons, Hansel Anthony Jones and wife Janet of Brandon and Richard Arlen Jones of Crystal Springs; daughter, Barbara Sue Jones of Crystal Springs; daughter-in-law, Bettye Jones of Boca Raton, FL; sisters, Audrey Nell Harrell of Brookhaven and Arcola Taylor of Crystal Springs; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
