Furry family members invited to Copiah County Dog Show
Kick off spring with a fun event for the whole family – even the furry family members. Join the Brookhaven Animal Rescue League (BARL) volunteers at the 2nd Annual Copiah County Dog Show.
Pooches of all shapes, sizes and talents are invited to join the fun on Saturday, April 17th at the beautiful Chautauqua Park in Crystal Springs.
Dogs will be salivating for all the prizes being awarded at the show. Competition categories include the following: Best Dressed, Cutest, Most Talented, Ugliest (not that any dogs are ugly), Largest, Smallest, Most Vocal, and Dog/Owner Look-A-Like. Categories also include Obedience (sit, down, stay, come and heel); and, Agility (hurdles, a-frame, low crawl, weave poles and broad jump).
The event will include food, drinks and shopping opportunities with the actual dog show beginning at 12 noon.
Entry forms may be picked up at BARL’s Adoption Center, Animal Health Center, Animal Medical Center, Brookhaven Animal Hospital, Copiah Animal Hospital or Larkin Veterinary Clinic. Entry forms may also be found on BARL’s website at www.barl.net. Entry fees are $10 for the first category, and $5 for each additional category.

The Brookhaven Animal Rescue League is a nonprofit, no-kill, volunteer-based animal welfare group serving Copiah, Franklin and Lincoln counties. For 29 years BARL has arranged shelter and basic veterinary services for abandoned and orphaned animals until they can be placed into homes. BARL also seeks to reduce the number of unwanted animals through education regarding the value of spaying and neutering, and by offering the Community Outreach Spay/Neuter Program for families in need.
