LaRose Beck
Hazel LaRose Boyd Beck, 91, of Crystal Springs, died Monday morning, March 29, 2010.
Visitation will be 6pm-8pm Tuesday, March 30, at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs. Services will be 11am Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at County Line Baptist Church with interment at County Line Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Services in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Beck was born July 8, 1918, in White Bluff, Marion County, to Iva Stringer Boyd and Thomas Shirley Boyd. She married the love of her life, Guy Lee Beck, on August 28, 1936. He passed away on January 30, 1979. During their lifetime together, they lived in Columbia, Bolton and Prentiss. After his death, she moved to Jackson and later to Crystal Springs, where she resided until her death. She was a faithful member of County Line Baptist Church in Crystal Springs, where she especially loved and enjoyed all the ladies in her Sunday School Class, and where she was affectionately known as “Miss Rose.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, baby daughter, Myrtle Rose Beck, brothers, J. W. Boyd and Thomas Boyd, sisters, Kathryn Tirello McBerry and Ida Sue Boyd.
Survivors include: daughters, Donis Barnes (John) of Crystal Springs, and Barbara Beck of Ogden, Utah, and sons, Charles Earl Beck (Jan) of Ruston, Louisiana, and George Wayne Beck (Deris) of Sterlington, Louisiana, and sister, Iva Jo Bryant of Prentiss. Other survivors include nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
