Community Construction to expand, creating 25 new jobs at Hazlehurst operation

Officials from Community Construction, Inc. (CCI), a full service pipeline contractor, have announced an expansion of the company’s operations in Hazlehurst, Miss.  CCI is adding a metal fabrication shop to its Hazlehurst facility to better meet the needs of its customers. The company will create 25 new jobs at the facility, bringing the total number of employees at its Hazlehurst location to 50.

“I would like to thank Mr. Perry Hood with the Copiah County Board of Supervisors and Mr. Neil Honan with the Copiah County Economic Development District,” said CCI President James Stewart. “I would also like to thank the Mississippi Development Authority for their continued support of this project. With this completed, we look forward to expanding our services with this new metal fabrication shop for our customers, and we look forward to years of growth in Copiah County.”

The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) worked alongside company and local officials to address the company’s needs and help facilitate the expansion. MDA provided assistance through the Community Development Block Grant Program, which enabled Copiah County to help the company with public infrastructure improvements essential to the expansion.

“By expanding and doubling the workforce at its Hazlehurst location, CCI is demonstrating its confidence in Mississippi and its workforce,” said Gray Swoope, MDA executive director. “I am delighted that we were able to work with local officials to help with this expansion, which will create new jobs in Copiah County, and I appreciate CCI officials for their continued investment in Mississippi.”

CCI is a full-service pipeline contractor with its corporate office located in Hazlehurst, MS.  CCI has additional locations in Houma, La., and Phenix City, Ala.  For more information, please visit the company’s Web site at www.ccihouma.com.
