Carl E. Dixon

Carl Ellis Dixon, 70, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, April 4, 2010 at his home. 

Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Tuesday, April 6,  at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst and 1pm-2pm Wednesday, April 7,  at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.  Services will be officiated by Rev. Ray Quinnelly 2pm Wednesday from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.  Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.

Mr. Dixon retired from CN Railroad after 36 years.  He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where he was known as “Poppy” to the community and to his beloved grandchildren.
 
Survivors include: his wife of 51 years, Rose Dixon; sons, Dr. William Dixon and wife Stacy of Bogue Chitto and Mike Dixon and wife Carla of Raymond; brother, Louie Dixon of Hazlehurst;  grandchildren, Thea Marie Dixon, Megan Lee Dixon, Claire Elizabeth Dixon, Madison Bailey Dixon, William Sutton Dixon, and Carley Regan Dixon.
